LIVE: Moss Side park incident as teenage boy fighting for life after being stabbed

Police are at the scene of stabbing in Moss Side this afternoon. An air ambulance has landed near to Millenium Park in the last 30 minutes, with the area taped off.

A teenage boy has been rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries from the scene. A witness who passed the incident at around 4.40pm said the park was 'all cordoned off' with a number of police vehicles and ambulances in attendance.

Emergency services have flooded the area just off Great Western Street, near to Princess Road with a large cordon in place. No arrests have been made in connection with the knife attack, however a major police investigation is underway.

This is a breaking incident. Live updates to follow below.

Large police scene remains in place

One woman, who did not want to be named, said: “I just heard the noise from the chopper at first. So I looked out and saw the police everywhere.

"And I could see the guy on the floor on the corner being treated by the paramedics. There was a lady who came out before me and she said he had been stabbed. The police asked everyone to move back.

“They were treating him for a long time, about 30 minutes or at least before they took him away. I have lived here for five years now and we haven’t had anything like this, not on this street at least.

“So it was a bit shocking to me. It’s a bit disturbing. I just hope he’s okay.”

New videos show forensics officers conducting investigations and working at an evidence tent within the cordon.

Locals have been left 'stunned' by the incident.
