LIVE: Man suffers 'life-threatening injuries' after stabbing on residential street in Bury
Police have taped off a road in Bury this afternoon after an 18-year-old man suffered 'life-changing' stab wound injuries.
Large numbers of officers have been seen on and surrounding Abingdon Avenue in Whitefield as Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said they have arrested a man in his 40s on suspicion of attempted murder. The victim was rushed to hospital after being stabbed in the arm, the force said.
Eyewitnesses also reported seeing an air ambulance land at St Bernadettes Primary School nearby. A number of emergency vehicles including ambulances and police vehicles remain on the scene.

GMP said a scene remains in place while enquiries continue.

A second tent has been erected inside the cordon this evening. Officers previously said they expect Abingdon Avenue to remain taped off overnight.
