LIVE: Main Manchester train line closed amid emergency services incident - updates
The train line between Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Airport is fully blocked this afternoon amid an emergency services incident.
The line is fully closed off while crews respond. All trains on the route between Piccadilly station and Manchester Airport station are currently either cancelled, revised or delayed.
The incident is near Heald Green, according to National Rail. Disruption is expected on the line until at least 3pm.

Operators affected by the closure include Northern, TransPennine Express and Transport for Wales. Travellers have been urged to use Metrolink services instead of trains, or the Bee Network free bus.

Northern said:
To assist customers to complete their journey, road replacement transport will be provided as follows: A coach operated by Ocean Travel will depart Wilmslow at 13:30 calling at stations to East Didsbury.
Connections to Manchester City Centre can be made via East Didsbury Metrlink services.
National Rail has said there will be major disruption on the line this afternoon.
