LIVE: Fire crews at scene of blaze as smoke billows into sky
Fire crews have been called out to a blaze in Stockport this afternoon.
Multiple reports have come in of a fire in the Outwood Road area, with photos showing fire officers on scene. Smoke can be seen billowing from the top of a building as emergency services respond to the incident.
One woman told the Manchester Evening News the blaze was in the derelict Beech Tree pub in the area.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At 12.30pm this afternoon (Friday 2nd June), seven fire engines from Wythenshawe, Stockport Central, Offerton, Sale, Stretford and Marple fire station were called to reports of a building fire involving a derelict pub on Outwood Road, Heald Green.
“Crews arrived quickly at scene. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatuses used two hose reels to extinguish the fire.
“Firefighters have been in attendance for around an hour and a half and are still at the scene."
The fire is at the former Beech Tree pub, which is now closed.
