Lionel Messi has failed to score or produce an assist in his last nine appearances against Real Madrid.

The Argentinean's worrying record emerged following Paris Saint-Germain's stunning collapse against the Spanish giants in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.

Mauricio Pochettino's side were 2-0 up on aggregate at the Bernabeu heading into the final 30 minutes, but a dramatic hat-trick from Karim Benzema snatched the win for Real.

Messi's last goal involvement against Real was in May 2018, when he scored for Barcelona in a 2-2 draw at the Nou Camp.

It marks a poor run of form for the 34-year-old, who has scored 26 goals and produced 14 assists against Real during his glittering career.
