Lionel Messi: Fans are debating whether he meant crazy skill vs Estonia
Lionel Messi suffered a disappointing 2021/22 season by his usual ridiculous standards.
In his debut campaign at Paris Saint-Germain, Messi managed just 11 goals in 34 appearances in all competitions.
However, he finished it in the best possible way.
Argentina faced Estonia in a friendly, running out 5-0 winners. Messi produced an absolute masterclass of a performance scoring all five goals.
That’s not a bad way to head into the summer break, is it?
But it wasn’t just the five goals Messi scored that wowed football fans.
We’ve also brought you a brilliant clip of how he destroyed Estonia’s press with one simple touch as he pinged the ball out of a tight area to the left-back.
And now, another clip has gone viral from that match.
Messi has the ball outside Estonia’s penalty area and is surrounded by three defenders. In a split second, he escapes all three with an incredible piece of skill.
The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner appears to attempt a Cryuff turn which comes off his standing foot, creating the space to pass the ball onto his teammate.
It’s quite ridiculous.
What the actual hell
