Lionel Messi: Camera angle for PSG free-kick v Lyon looked like FIFA game

Lionel Messi continued his fine start to the 2022-23 season by scoring Paris Saint-Germain’s winning goal away at Lyon on Sunday night.

The legendary Argentine forward produced a stunning first-time finish past goalkeeper Anthony Lopes after receiving a pass from Neymar.

No further goals were scored during the remaining 85 minutes as unbeaten PSG secured their seventh league win of the campaign.

Messi, who turned 35 in June, has been in scintillating form during the opening weeks of the campaign.

In 11 games across all competitions, the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner has scored six goals and registered eight assists.

He appears to be back to his untouchable best following a difficult debut season at the Parc des Princes.

While Messi’s goal was excellent, it’s another clip from the Lyon game that’s gone viral on social media.

The South American had the opportunity to add another free-kick goal to his extensive collection shortly before full-time.

As Messi prepared to take the set-piece, one of Ligue 1’s TV cameras at the stadium provided a rather unique angle.

We got to see the free-kick almost from Messi’s perspective, and it reminded viewers of a FIFA game.
