Limerick U20s down Cork, Kilkenny through to Leinster semi-final

Limerick U20 hurlers had six points to spare over Cork in their Munster championship tie at Pairc Ui Rinn on Wednesday night.

Both teams had already qualified for the semi-finals, but the Treaty's 1-25 to 1-19 win means it is they who will enjoy home advantage in next Wednesday’s clash with Waterford.

The Rebels must regroup and will have to travel to Semple Stadium to take on Tipperary.

Aidan O’Connor 0-9 (0-06f) and Colin Coughlan 0-04 (0-01f) were the scorers in chief for Limerick, with Ben Cunningham 0-10 (0-07f) and midfielder Brian O’Sullivan (0-04), keeping the scoreboard ticking over for Cork.

Waterford booked their passage with a 2-26 to 1-12 win over Kerry at Fraher Field, where Padraig Fitzgerald hit 2-04 for the winners with Aaron Ryan scoring 0-12.

In Leinster, Kilkenny advanced to the last four of the Leinster U20 championship with an 11-point win over Offaly in Nowlan Park, 3-21 to 1-16.

The Cats were ahead by six points at the break with Billy Drennan and Harry Shine both finding the net.

Jack Doyle added a third after the break, with Luke Nolan getting Offaly’s only green flag of the game.
