Lily Agg expands Irish contingent at Birmingham City
Republic of Ireland midfielder Lily Agg has joined Barclays Women's Championship side Birmingham City.
Agg arrives at the Blues on a one-year deal, with a year option, linking up with compatriots Louise Quinn, Jamie Finn and Lucy Quinn.
Defender Harriet Scott had also been at the club but she announced her retirement earlier this month to focus on her career as a doctor.
Agg becomes manager Darren Carter's seventh arrival of the summer transfer window having departed London City Lionesses at the end of last season.
"I'm buzzing to be here. I'm glad it's over the line now," said the 29-year-old, who started Ireland's final Word Cup group game against Nigeria in Australia.
"I'm ecstatic. If you were to ask any player in the league who they think would be up there, Birmingham would be top of everyone's list.
"I want to compete, and I want to win the league. As soon as I heard of the interest, I knew I wanted to be here."
