Ligue 1: St Etienne's game against Marseille postponed due to snow
Olympique de Marseille, scheduled to kick off at 1900 GMT on Saturday, has been postponed due to heavy snowfall in France. Europe has been hit with flurries of snow over the last few days, with weather reports in France saying that up to 10 cm of snow had fallen in the city of St Etienne. "Given the difficulties of access to the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard, the LFP has decided, in agreement with all the stakeholders in the organization of the meeting, to postpone (the match)," St Etienne wrote on Twitter.
"The possibility of a postponement to a later week cannot be ruled out." St Etienne are 18th in the league standings with 27 points from 29 games, while Marseille are in second place on 53 points.
