Ligue 1 club RC Lens sign Nigerian midfielder Ojediran
French Ligue 1 club RC Lens have announced the signing of Nigerian midfielder Hamzat Ojediran from Hungarian club Debrecen.
In a statement, Lens announced that Ojediran has signed a four-year deal until 2028.
The 20-year-old spent two seasons at Debrecen, and was impressive during his time at the club.
Speaking on the signing of Ojediran, Lens General Manager Pierre Dreossi told the club’s website, “We are pleased to announce the signing of Hamzat Ojediran for the next four seasons. A revelation in the Hungarian championship in 2023/24, Hamzat is a true force of nature.
“An explosive and athletic midfielder, he is an aggressive ball-winner in the good sense of the word. His determination and commitment on the pitch correspond exactly to what is expected of an RC Lens player.
“The recruitment of Hamzat is part of the club’s policy of also focusing on emerging players with interesting potential,” he said.
Ojediran, a product of Emmanuel Amuneke Academy, was a member of the Golden Eaglets side to the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil.
He featured in all of Nigeria’s four games at the competition.
