Liam Payne challenges KSI to celebrity boxing match - but doesn't think Justin Bieber will do it

Liam Payne has challenged KSI to a celebrity boxing match – but admitted ‘he would have to come down a few weight slots’.

English singer Payne – who was previously part of One Direction with Harry Styles – gave his thoughts on YouTube prize fighting to Logan Paul during an appearance on his podcast Impaulsive earlier this week.

And he remarkably suggested that he would be more than happy to step in to the ring with KSI his preferred opponent.

Payne, 28, told Paul: “If there is a chance for me to jump in the ring and feel gladiatorial in the 21st century I am in.

“I love boxing as a sport and I think it’s fantastic.

“I would just enjoy the challenge and the road up to it would be great.

“Yeah I would fight KSI he would have to come down a few weight slots.

“But yeah I’d fight him. I like him too much though. I will fight whoever you want.

“But I don’t think Justin Bieber would do it. For the same reason I wouldn’t fight Trippie Redd, I don’t think he is on my level. But if he did want to do it I would.”

KSI, also 28, hasn’t responded to Payne’s challenge as yet.

However he recently took to YouTube to explain to fans why he can’t wait to ‘get back in the ring’.

The 28-year-old British YouTuber – real name Olajide Olatunji – hasn’t fought since his split decision victory over Logan in November 2019.

KSI said: “This is why, ladies and gentlemen, I’m so excited to get back in the ring now, I can shoot so many people out.

“Obviously, after beating Logan, I had to focus on one of my main goals in life.

“You know to do music. I have always been doing music throughout my life and it was somewhere I needed to pursue. Now, I feel like I’m in a very good space musically.
