Liam Gallagher to perform Oasis hits during Anthony Joshua's next big boxing match

Liam Gallagher has announced he will be performing ahead of a big boxing fight at Wembley Stadium later this year.

The former Oasis frontman will open for the match between British professional boxers Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois at the London stadium on September 21 as they compete for the IBF World heavyweight title - with tickets available here.

Liam, who will be taking to the stage at Co-op Live this evening (June 28), is currently performing a UK tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of Oasis’ debut album Definitely Maybe. His son Gene, and his band Villanelle, have been supporting the shows alongside Britpop group Cast.

Posting the news on Instagram, Liam’s team posted: “September 21st, Liam will perform 3 Oasis classics at the Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois match at Wembley Stadium.”

The September fight marks the first announced fight for Anthony, 34, since he defeated Cameroon's Francis Ngannou in March. Meanwhile, 26-year-old Daniel, who currently holds the IBF heavyweight title, beat Filip Hrgović during a match in Saudi Arabia earlier this month.

Tickets for the Riyadh Season Card match went on sale at 12pm today (June 28), just moments after Liam’s involvement was officially announced.

The event will also feature matches for the European middleweight title between Hamzah Sheeraz and Tyler Denny, the IFB/IBO World super-featherweight title between Josh Warrington and Anthony Cacace. and for the WBO Interim World light-heavyweight title will be Willy Hutchinson and Joshua Buatsi, whilst matches between Liam Smith vs Josh Kelly and Mark Chamberlain vs Josh Padley will also be held.
