Lewis Hamilton says he's not spoken to Max Verstappen at F1 testing

Lewis Hamilton has said that he is yet to meet with Max Verstappen at Formula 1 testing, with the pair both in Barcelona running their new cars ahead of the 2022 campaign.

The 2021 season was one of the most epic in the sport as Hamilton and Verstappen went wheel-to-wheel for its duration.

Indeed, it was a thrilling year that went down to the wire as Verstappen benefitted on the final lap from Michael Masi’s Safety Car call to nick the championship away from Hamilton.

Both men, though, are now focusing on the coming season and Hamilton has revealed it’s unlikely the two will catch up this week at least, with both testing their new cars in Barcelona and aiming to get as much data as possible:

“I haven’t [bumped into Verstappen yet], I literally just got here today, so…

“I didn’t bump into him in the pit lane, but I saw him come by. That’s probably as close as we will get this week.”

Obviously, both are concentrating on their testing programmes and it’s hardly the most pressing thing in the world that the two need to have a discussion this week.

Surely, things will be amicable enough going into next season with both eager to put the controversy of 2021 behind them.
