Lewis Hamilton makes very positive prediction despite Mercedes' 2022 struggles

Lewis Hamilton has said that Mercedes will get back on top after a difficult season in Formula 1 by their high standards.

The Silver Arrows have certainly been through a fair few challenges this year with their car proving pretty unpredictable but they still find themselves in with a shot of finishing second in the Constructors’ standings, which underlines the effort they have put in this season to keep learning about their car and how to improve it.

It’s that kind of work ethic that led them to eight straight world titles in the Constructors’ championship, of course, and also seven Drivers’ crowns and you can guarantee they won’t be stopping until they get back to that level.

Indeed, Hamilton will be keener than most to see that happen with him so close to a record-breaking eighth world championship, and he has said the team is going to learn a great deal from this tough year and come back with a vengeance:

“I look at it as a bit of adversity and I think that’s where you can really gain strength,” said Hamilton.

I think we’ve gained a lot of strength in depth. When you’re winning all the time it’s a wonderful thing but you don’t gain a lot when you win.

“There are six races [left] so there’s six opportunities and we will try to get a win, but if we do not do well, I do not think it is the end of the world.

“We will get back to the top.”

Hamilton and co. have had a barren year and neither championship is going to be theirs this season but they have regularly said they learn most when they do not have success and so that could be a real warning for the rest of the field for 2023.
