Leona Maguire cards a 68 in second round at Maybank Championship

Leona Maguire is nine shots behind her Solheim Cup team-mate Maja Stark after the second round of the Maybank Championship in Kuala Lumpur.

Maguire followed up Thursday's round of 73 with a four-under-par 68 to move to three under for the tournament and a share of 39th place.

The Cavan woman registered five birdies, with her sole bogey coming on the final hole of her round.

Consecutive rounds of 66 took Stark to 12 under and earned the Swede a one-shot lead over American Marina Alex, Chinese Taipei's Wei-Ling Hsu and the South Korean pair of Haeran Ryu and Narin An.

"I think I was pretty solid off the tee," Stark told reporters after her round. "Had a lot of short irons. Then it was - I've been struggling a bit with my putting this whole year, but I feel like I really had an easier time seeing the lines here than I usually do."
