Leon Bailey injury update as Steven Gerrard reveals Aston Villa team news for Leeds United clash
Aston Villa will finally return to Premier League action after a two-and-a-half week break when Leeds United travel to Villa Park on Wednesday night.
Steven Gerrard's side ended a four-match winless run to beat Everton at Goodison Park last time out and come into the game against Leeds in good shape.
Villa also beat both Brentford and Molde in the past week in friendly games to finish a 'mini pre-season' during the interval.
The Villa head coach was however missing Leon Bailey, Marvelous Nakamba, Trezeguet and Bertrand Traore due to either injury or international duties at AFCON.
Jamaica winger Bailey has now returned to training, but alongside Nakamba, Trezeguet, and Traore, Gerrard will be without the four players for the game against Leeds.
Gerrard said: “We’ve now got Leon Bailey back in full training, but he won’t be in the squad tomorrow.
“Bertrand Traoré is on his way back, so to get those two back in the squad will be a big help, like two new signings.
“Besides that, we are fully fit and ready to go.”
