Leinster's Dave Kearney ruled out for months with hamstring injury
Leinster winger Dave Kearney has been ruled out for "a number of months" with a hamstring injury.
Ahead of a busy schedule of United Rugby Championship and Champions Cup games, the province must plan without the 32-year-old Ireland international.
"Unfortunately, Dave Kearney had a procedure last week for a hamstring injury and will be unavailable for a number of months," said Leinster.
Kearney made his first appearance of the season last month after returning from a back injury.
Leo Cullen, whose side face Munster on Saturday night (7pm, live on RTÉ2, RTÉ Player RTÉ Radio 1), may also be without out-half Ross Byrne.
The Ireland no 10 was removed for a head injury assessment before half-time in the side's 45-8 win over Connacht on Saturday.
He passed that check but had suffered a dental injury and will be further assessed this week.
Ciaran Frawley, man of the match against Connacht, came through with no issues following a facial injury, which had kept him out for five weeks, while Conor O’Brien has also returned to full training.
There were no updates on Ireland players James Ryan (concussion), Ryan Baird (back), Andrew Porter (ankle), Jordan Larmour (hip) and Ronán Kelleher (shoulder). Michael Milne (calf) also remains out.
