Leinster lose Tommy O'Brien to injury, while more Ireland internationals in line for return against Scarlets.

Leinster will be without the services of Tommy O'Brien for "a number of weeks" after the winger suffered an ankle injury in the win over Dragons at the weekend.

O’Brien, who has scored three tries in four games, has been one of the province’s best performers in the opening rounds of the BKT URC.

The Dubliner (below) was replaced at the start of the second half of their 33-10 victory at Rodney Parade on Sunday.

"He just picked up a bump there at the weekend but he's been going very well, both in attack and defence really so just unfortunate," assistant coach Robin McBryde told RTÉ Sport.

Scrum-half Cormac Foley, meanwhile, will be further assessed during the week after suffering a shoulder injury in the same game.

The 24-year-old has not been ruled out of Saturday evening’s home tie against the Scarlets.

Prop Michael Milne is continued rehab on a shoulder injury as will also be assessed later in the week, while there were no further updates on John McKee (hamstring), Luke McGrath (knee), Cian Healy (shoulder), Ed Byrne (hamstring) and Alex Soroka (foot).

Leo Cullen’s side look likely to reintegrate more of their Ireland contingent for the game at the RDS (Saturday, 7.35pm).

Ross Byrne, Jimmy O’Brien, Dan Sheehan, Ryan Baird and Joe McCarthy featured against the Dragons, while Josh van der Flier, Robbie Henshaw, Garry Ringrose, Jamison Gibson-Park, Rónan Kelleher and Tadhg Furlong were all pictured at Leinster training on Tuesday.

"Yeah, we could [see some involved]," said McBryde.

"We'll sit down and discuss the team later but they all took part in training today so it's a short week and we're going to have to manage it very carefully.

"Each player will be discussed when we get together."
