Leicester 'privately open' to selling £120k-a-week star at King Power Stadium

Leicester City will let Youri Tielemans leave for the right price, according to CBS reporter Ben Jacobs.

While Foxes manager Brendan Rodgers has made it clear that he does not want to lose his best players this summer, Jacobs says there is an acceptance at the King Power Stadium that Tielemans will go if a suitable offer arrives.

As per football.london, Arsenal want to sign Tielemans and are confident they can land him for less than Leicester’s asking price.

However, according to the same outlet, the north London club are prepared to wait before bringing the Belgian in on a free transfer if they cannot strike a deal with Leicester now.

Tielemans is into the final 12 months of his £120,000-a-week contract at the King Power, so the Foxes are not in an ideal position.

The above, however, does not necessarily mean they will lower their demands, with Rodgers stating that the club are not here to be exploited this summer.

Jacobs has told GIVEMESPORT that while Leicester want to retain James Maddison, they will allow Tielemans to go, provided that their asking price for the 25-year-old is met.

Speaking to GMS, the CBS reporter said: “With Maddison, Tottenham have always admired the player, but Leicester would like to hang on to him.

“I think the frustration of the Tielemans saga is that Leicester would prefer that to be resolved because they’re privately of the acceptance that they will let him go for the right price. Obviously if they got in that 20 or 30 million, they would then be in a position to be a little bit more firm on potential offers for other players.”

As well as Tielemans and Maddison, who has been the subject of two failed bids from Newcastle United, Wesley Fofana could also depart the King Power.
