Leicester emerge as surprise suitors for Real Madrid-linked Arsenal star

Leicester City are reportedly keen on a move for Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney, who has previously been linked with Real Madrid.

It was reported last week that Real Madrid had launched a month-long scouting mission into Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka but had turned their attentions to left-back Tierney after a number of impressive performances.

However, it is now being reported by Caught Offside that Leicester are interested in the Scottish international.

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers worked with Tierney at Celtic and would like to reunite with the 24-year-old at the King Power stadium.

The Foxes defensive issues this season are well known as Rodgers has had to deal with a series of serious injuries to key member of his back four.

The key to this move ever materialising is if Tierney would even consider a move to a club who are in a worst position than Arsenal at present.

The Gunners are in pole position for the top four whilst Leicester currently sit 12th and were convincingly beaten by Arsenal on Sunday.

Elsewhere, former Arsenal man Paul Merson has claimed Manchester United will never win the league with Cristiano Ronaldo upfront. 

He told Sky Sports: “I always thought the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo wasn’t great. He gets a hat-trick on Saturday and everybody’s going mad, but put the ball in the box and Ronaldo will score goals. It’s simple.
