Leicester draw confirmed Manchester United's next manager's biggest challenge

If entertainment was what you were after on Saturday evening, Old Trafford was most definitely not the place for you.

Manchester United's hopes of securing a top-four finish took another dent as they played out a drab 1-1 draw with Leicester City. Fred rescued a point for United, tapping home Bruno Fernandes' parried effort, after former Manchester City man Kelechi Iheanacho had given the visitors the lead with an excellent header.

It was another major setback in United's quest to secure a top-four finish, meaning they have now won just one of their last four Old Trafford matches. It is hardly a motivational pick-me-up for the supporters as we approach the business end of the campaign, is it?

Furthermore, the stalemate with Leicester means that United have now won just two of their last seven home games in all competitions, losing to Atletico Madrid and being held by the likes of Leicester, Southampton and Watford during that run. Old Trafford, once a stadium that would turn the legs of opposition players to jelly, has now become a landmark for securing a famous scalp.

But it is not just recently that United boss Ralf Rangnick's woes have become apparent. They were knocked out of both domestic cup competitions on their own patch this season and were demolished by Liverpool and Man City in the first half of the season.
