Leeds 'working hard right now' over key signing at Elland Road

Leeds will be “working hard right now” to bring in another striker this window, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

Jesse Marsch’s side felt the absence of Patrick Bamford last season and O’Rourke reckons Jesse Marsch will be doing everything in his power to provide the ex-Chelsea man with support at the top end of the pitch.

Leeds were an exciting, counter-attacking team in their first season back in the Premier League, scoring 62 goals in their 38 top-flight games.

But Bamford’s injury and a lack of help from their other attacking players besides Raphinha saw the Yorkshire giants find the net just 42 times last term, the fourth-worst record in the division.

The likes of Rodrigo and Dan James were forced to spend time playing through the middle, but those two scored just 10 league goals between them.

As a result, O’Rourke expects Marsch’s side to be going all out in their attempts to bolster their striker options ahead of the new campaign.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “They definitely need to bring in a striker because they so badly missed Patrick Bamford through injury last season, so I’m sure Leeds are working hard right now in this transfer market to try and find the striker to improve their options up front, score more goals and take the goalscoring burden off the likes of Bamford.”

That could force Leeds to look elsewhere and they’re keen on RB Salzburg frontman Junior Adamu, who scored nine goals in 43 appearances for the Austrian champions last
