Leeds United take big Premier League win in thriller at Wolves, Brentford and Leicester draw, Villa win

Leeds United climbed out of the relegation zone with a thrilling 4-2 win at Wolves. Jack Harrison opened up the scoring after firing in from a Wilfried Gnonto cross after just six minutes but Wolves found their rhythm and improved for the rest of the first half. Ad Mario Lemina did have the ball in the net for Wolves but was found to be offside, before Luke Ayling doubled Leeds’ lead from a corner.

Jonny pegged a goal back and Matheus Cunha’s deflected shot soon meant Wolves were back in the game and looking for an equaliser. However, it all went wrong when a nasty challenge from Jonny on Ayling led to a red card and Rodrigo sealed the win for Leeds with a 97th-minute goal.

A VAR check for a foul confirmed Leeds’ goal but Matheus Nunes was furious with the decision and was subsequently sent off from the bench. It puts Leeds two points clear or the drop zone, which includes Bournemouth as they lost 3-0 to Aston Villa. Douglas Luiz tapped in the opener after some delightful play with Leon Bailey, but Bournemouth showed some fight to stay in the match.
