Leeds United squad revealed for Southampton trip as Marsch faces tough bench decisions

Leeds United are likely to have a much more experienced bench at their disposal for today's trip to Southampton. Jesse Marsch is set to welcome Daniel James, Luis Sinisterra, Liam Cooper and Adam Forshaw back into the fold after missing last Saturday’s win over Wolves.

James served the last match of his three-match suspension, while Sinisterra, Cooper and Forshaw have all overcome respective injury problems. That is likely to leave Marsch with a big decision as to who he leaves out of the squad at St. Mary’s.

Leeds’ bench had a very youthful look to it last week, though each of the now nine options are all now considered viable first team players. Given Forshaw’s return and Mateusz Klich’s positive showing against Wolves, Archie Gray and Darko Gyabi appear the two most likely to be left out.

That means two of Cody Drameh, Leo Hjelde, Sam Greenwood, Crysencio Summerville and Joe Gelhardt will not make the bench, providing the expected absentees do return. The latter three all made positive cameo appearances on the opening day, but Drameh and Hjelde provide cover to positions they are not spoilt for choice in.

That certainly leaves Marsch with a tough decision as to who will not make the cut. Here is the full squad that looks set to head down to St. Mary’s.

Illan Meslier, Kristoffer Klaesson, Cody Drameh, Rasmus Kristensen, Robin Koch, Diego Llorente, Liam Cooper, Pascal Struijk, Leo Hjelde, Tyler Adams, Marc Roca, Adam Forshaw, Sam Greenwood, Mateusz Klich, Crysencio Summerville, Dan James, Rodrigo Moreno, Brenden Aaronson, Jack Harrison, Luis Sinisterra, Joe Gelhardt, Patrick Bamford
