Leeds United ambassador tips 'little Messi' for Elland Road move

Former Leeds United man Michael Bridges has mooted Tom Rogic for a move to the Yorkshire club this summer. 

It was recently announced that the Australian would be leaving Celtic at the end of the season, having spent nearly 10 years with the Scottish champions, and so it remains to be seen as to where he ends up next.

While discussing the future of the midfielder on Optus Sport podcast GegenPod, Bridges tipped Rogic to shine in the Premier League and listed Newcastle United and Brighton & Hove Albion as possible destinations – before also stating that Leeds would be a good fit.

He said (via HITC): “It was absolutely brilliant scenes to see him departing the field, it was a very emotional moment.

“I think the embrace with Ange was for about 30 seconds because I think Ange is gutted that he’s going as well.

“I’d like to see Tom Rogic getting to a Premier League football club, I still think he has something to offer. I wouldn’t mind seeing him at Newcastle, actually. I think they are going to go bigger and better but Newcastle United could be an option.

“I could see him fitting into a Brighton team and I could also see him fitting into a Leeds United team, I think that would be the kind of thing you’re looking at.”

TIF thoughts on Tom Rogic and Leeds…

Having won so many trophies during his time with Celtic – including seven league titles – there can be little doubting the quality of Rogic.
