Leeds out to ruin Antonio Conte plan by plotting £10m approach for Championship midfielder

Leeds United are reportedly prepping a £10m move to sign Bristol City’s teenage star Alex Scott – but face strong competition from Premier League rivals Tottenham.

The 18-year-old star has been making ways for the Robins this season, having featured in 36 games. And that form – which has seen him score four goals and weigh in with two assists – has seen scouts flock to Ashton Gate.

Now, according to the Sunday Mirror, Leeds and Tottenham both had scouts in attendance during Brisol City’s 1-0 win at Stoke on Good Friday.

The youngster operates as a No 10, or creative midfielder. That said, the star has shown his versatility lately with boss Nigel Pearson utilising Scott in the wing-back position.

He’s also shown his tenacity in the tackle too, picking up 10 cautions this season as well.

Scott is contracted to Ashton Gate until summer 2025 and, for obvious reasons, is rated extremely highly by the Championship club.

Indeed, they reportedly value him at around the £10m – a fee which is unlikely to scare off his Premier League admirers.

The paper claims that chase is being headed by Leeds, who are planning a £10m offer to prise him to Elland Road.

Jesse Marsch’s side still face a battle to retain their Premier League status. Next up, they face a crucial clash at Crystal Palace on Monday. However, they do retain a cushion over their rivals at the bottom. That’s after a return of 10 points from their last four games.

As such, plans are beginning to take shape over their summer transfer targets.

They seemingly see Scott as a solid addition to their midfield options. They have been depleted this season through the long-term absence of Kalvin Phillips.
