Leeds: Marsch 'connections' could seal £25m deal at Elland Road

Leeds United could win the race for Mohamed Camara’s signature thanks to the ‘connections’ of Elland Road chief Jesse Marsch, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

Marsch was appointed as the Whites’ head coach in February and he may play a pivotal role in the Yorkshire giants’ pursuit of the midfielder.

According to Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor, Red Bull Salzburg have excused Camara from their pre-season training camp in order to resolve his future.

Taylor claims Leeds have been in direct contract with the 15-cap Mali international’s representatives and, with him wanting a move to the Premier League, Brighton & Hove Albion are also showing an interest.

It is understood that a bid worth up to £25million will need to be lodged in order to tempt Salzburg into sanctioning Camara’s departure.

The Austrian giants are in a strong negotiating position and not necessarily in desperate need of finding a buyer before the transfer window slams shut as the 22-year-old’s contract is not due to expire until the summer of 2025.

Marsch selected Camara 42 times during his stint in charge of Salzburg, and the defensive midfielder repaid him with three goals and two assists.

O’Rourke believes Camara has traits within his game which will allow him to flourish in the Premier League.

“Obviously, Jesse Marsch knows him very well and his connections with Salzburg
