Lee Tomlin’s ‘embarrassing’ red card for Doncaster v Bradford slammed by fans
We’re not even in August yet but Doncaster Rovers’ Lee Tomlin received one of the most embarrassing red cards we’ll see all season against Bradford City on Saturday afternoon.
The two sides went head-to-head on the opening weekend of the 2022-23 League Two campaign.
Tomlin, making his competitive debut for Doncaster after leaving Walsall at the end of last season, was shown two yellow cards in quick succession from referee Bobby Madden.
The 33-year-old received the first yellow card after preventing Bradford from taking a free-kick during first-half stoppage-time.
He then inexplicably kicked the ball away for second time before theatrically falling to the ground when Bradford’s No. 10, James Walker, gave him the slightest push in the back and appeared to tread on his foot.
