Leah Paul leads Ireland to ODI series win over Dutch

A superb innings of 137 by Leah Paul helped Ireland inflict a crushing 210-run win on the Netherlands on a record-breaking day to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the one-day international series.

Paul was one of two centurions for the tourists in Amstelveen alongside captain Laura Delany and it helped achieve a record total of 337 for eight for Ireland, who won Monday's opener by five wickets.

This result was never in doubt from the change of innings and Cara Murray's five for 39 saw Netherlands all out for 127 to wrap up the three-match series with one more fixture remaining.

Paul and Delany's 236-run record partnership for the third wicket was the bedrock of Ireland's success.

Opener Paul hit a maiden hundred thanks to 15 fours before she eventually departed for 137 but only after bettering Amy Hunter's 121 from last year, the previous best highest individual score for Ireland in ODIs.

Delany also reached three figures for her country for the first time and despite Netherlands getting to the halfway stage only four wickets down, Murray put the hosts in a spin to seal an emphatic victory and with it the series.
