Lauren James compared to brother Reece after superb Chelsea performance v Man City

Chelsea’s Lauren James has been compared to her brother Reece after an impressive performance against Manchester City in the Women’s Super League.

The Blues triumphed 2-0 after goals from Fran Kirby and Maren Mjelde.

It was a crucial victory for Chelsea, who suffered a shock 2-1 defeat to Liverpool on the opening weekend of the season.

Kirby and Mjelde may have been the names on the scoresheet, but it was James who really caught the eye of Chelsea fans.

Spearheading her team’s attack alongside Sam Kerr, the 20-year-old was a constant thorn in Manchester City’s side.

The ball seemed to stick to her feet as she glided away from defenders, earning her side a number of free-kicks after she drew in fouls.

James also had a number of efforts on goal, with one shot in particular just whistling past the post.

Chelsea fans were quick to draw comparisons between Lauren James and her brother Reece, who also plays for the Blues.
