Latest Grand National odds: Rachael Blackmore backed to win the race for a second time aboard Minella Times

Rachael Blackmore was the toast of Aintree in 2021 and punters are placing their faith in the Gold Cup-winning jockey taking Liverpool by storm once again this year.

Blackmore became the first female jockey to win the world's most famous race when Minella Times stormed to a six-and-a-half length victory in the colours of legendary owner and punter JP McManus last April.

Minella Times' handicap mark of 161 means he must carry 15lb more this time around but that hasn't put off ante-post punters who backed the 9-year-old into 10/1 co-favourite of three with Betfred after the latest acceptance stage.

Blackmore and trainer Henry de Bromhead head to Aintree on the crest of a wave after winning two of the biggest races at last week's Cheltenham Festival with Honeysuckle and A Plus Tard, who gave Blackmore a first Cheltenham Gold Cup.

If Minella Times is going to win the race for a second successive year then he will need to see off a strong team from the Gordon Elliott stable.

Elliott is responsible for five of the first 11 horses in Betfred 's Grand National betting list, including two of the three co-favourites Escaria Ten and Delta Work.

Escaria Ten has never been to Aintree but he warmed up for his big spring target when beaten just a nose by Any Second Now - last year's Grand National third, in the Bobbyjo Chase at Fairyhouse in February.

Delta Work threw his hat into the Grand National ring by edging out stablemate and dual Grand National hero Tiger Roll in last week's Cross Country Chase at Cheltenham.
