Las Vegas Grand Prix: Lewis Hamilton's reaction to new race

Following the recent announcement in the world of Formula 1, Lewis Hamilton has had his say on the new track in Las Vegas.

In the early hours of Thursday morning, the sport confirmed that Vegas will be added to the calendar next year, and it’s safe to say the drivers are absolutely buzzing for it.

Across the track, Las Vegas’ famous hotels and casinos will be featured on what should be a historic day for racing.

With 50 laps in-store, the race will run for 3.8 miles with three straights and a high-speed cornering sequence.

Mercedes’ Hamilton has jokingly expressed his concerns for drivers competing in next year’s race, saying: “Knowing that it’s a real party city, it’s difficult for a racing driver! How am I going to focus that weekend? There’s going to be so much going on. It’s going to be pretty hardcore.”

Previously, the Las Vegas Grand Prix took place in 1981 and 1982, but next year will be the first time the drivers will race along the Las Vegas Strip.

As Formula One looks to expand globally, Las Vegas will join Austin and Miami as the third American city to host a Grand Prix.

We surprised our drivers with some news earlier this year…Do you think they're excited?
