Lanisek and Kreuzer kick off 2023 Raw Air with wins in Oslo

A supremely consistent Anze Lanisek kicked off the 2023 Raw Air tournament with victory in Oslo. Jumps of 133m and 139.5m took the Slovenian ahead of favourite Stefan Kraft, who failed to break the 130-metre mark, despite leading the standings after round one. Ad The Austrian slipped to second with Lanisek's brilliant final leap only bettered by third-place Karl Geiger.

In the women's event, Chiara Kreuzer was the shock victor, coming from fifth to take gold with jumps of 125.5 and 126.5 metres. The Austrian is sixth in the overall World Cup standings and surprisingly poor final leaps from world champion Katharina Altaus and world silver medallist Eva Pinkelnig left the field open for Kreuzer to swoop.

Kreuzer said: «I don't think it was difficult because I really enjoyed jumping here. I have no words because I didn't expect the win. The victory feels awesome.» Ema Klinec of Slovenia also improved by four places to take silver, while Anna Stroem leapfrogged Yuki Ito into third.
