Lamar Jackson leads list of most common players on 2024 ESPN fantasy football finalists' rosters - ESPN

Judging by the players left standing in the most ESPN Fantasy Football championship matchups, there have been several ways to build a title contender in 2024.

No individual player can be found on a championship-matchup roster in more than 38.0% of ESPN leagues — that league-leading number belongs to Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson — the first season since 2020 in which that has been true. Generally, at least one elite full-season performer continues with a two-week fantasy semifinal outburst, carrying his teams on his shoulders. For example, in 2023, it was Christian McCaffrey, who was on a finalists' roster in 58.9% of leagues. In 2021, it was Cooper Kupp (48%), and in 2019, it was McCaffrey again (48.1%). This year, however, has been an outlier in that regard.

Additionally, a whopping 39 different players can be found on at least 25% of ESPN finalists' rosters, the most who can claim that in any of the past 10 seasons.

That's not to diminish the accomplishments of many of the game's best players, all of whom have played big parts in getting their teams this far.

Jackson tops the list thanks in large part because he also tops the fantasy leaderboard — his 377.98 fantasy points are most in the league by nearly 20 — and leading all quarterbacks with 12 instances of a top-10 weekly score, totaling the third-most points among quarterbacks during the two-week semifinals (Weeks 15-16). He also entered the past week with the second-best odds to win NFL MVP at ESPN BET.
