Lagos prepares for Nathaniel Ogedegbe U-12 Football Tournament

Lagos is set to come alive this December as eight youth football teams gather for the second edition of the Nathaniel Ogedegbe Under-10/12 Football Tournament. The competition will take place at the Sonibare Stadium in Surulere, Lagos State, showcasing emerging football talents and fostering a love for the game.

This youth-focused tournament is sponsored by Nathaniel Ogedegbe, a former Nigerian international footballer, through his organisation, NOSF-Flawless Soccer, based in Virginia, USA. The event is designed as a 7-a-side competition and divided into two categories: the Under-10 teams will compete on 7 and 8 December at 4 pm each day, while the Under-12 teams will battle it out on 17 and 18 December, starting at 9 am.

Nathaniel Ogedegbe, the tournament’s sponsor, expressed his commitment to providing young footballers in Nigeria with a platform to showcase their skills, learn from one another, and develop their passion for the sport. He emphasised that the tournament reflects the goals of the Nathaniel Ogedegbe Sports Foundation (NOSF), which aims to create opportunities for youth athletes and coaches.

The programme will also include coaching clinics for participating teams, alongside medical screenings for both players and coaches. Ogedegbe noted that initiatives like Flawless Soccer Tournaments and clinics are his way of giving back to the community, offering resources that inspire the next generation of football talent.
