Lagos NAPHER-SD’s three-day seminar/workshop begins April 16

The National Association for Physical Health Education, Recreation, Sports and Dance (NAPHER-SD), Lagos State chapter, has said that it would, in conjunction with the National Institute for Sports (NIS), hold a three-day seminar/workshop from April 16 to 18 at the Gymnasium hall, National Institute for Sports, National Stadium, Lagos.

According to the organisation, the seminar/workshop has Skill Advancement For Lagos State Physical and Health Education Teachers (secondary and primary schools) as the main topic, and such sub-themes as Safety measures in schools sports, sport data analytics, development of grassroots sports through Physical Education theory and practical lessons, need for capacity of today’s Physical Education teachers to meet current challenges and talent identification and development in schools.

According to a NAPHER-SD statement, NIS Director General, Prof. Olawale Moronkola, will chair the programme, while Prof. Abiodun Moronfolu, former HOD, Human Kinetics, Sports and Health Education, Lagos State University, Ojo, is the Keynote speaker.

Dr. Sunday Odior, chairman NAPHER-SD Lagos is the Chief host, while Dr. Johnson Williams, the organising committee’s chairman, is the host.

The organisation said that Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, will be the Special Guest of Honour, while Jamiu Alli- Balogun, the Commissioner, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Lagos State .
