La Liga: Osasuna's Ante Budimir sinks Alaves with late strike

Ante Budimir struck in added time to give his side a 1-0 win home win over relegation-threatened Alaves in La Liga on Sunday. Alaves were playing their first game under new coach Julio Velazquez and got a boost when goalkeeper Fernando Pacheco saved Ruben Garcia's penalty in the 38th minute.

Pacheco pulled off another good stop in the second half to keep out a backheeled effort from Budimir, who also had a goal ruled out for offside. But the Croatian had the final say, knocking a loose ball into the net after Alaves failed to clear the danger.

The result kept Alaves at the bottom of the table on 22 points with seven games remaining. They are six points off 17th-placed Mallorca, who moved clear of the relegation zone after their shock 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid on Saturday.

Osasuna are 10th on 41 points.
