LA Clippers' New Logo Tastefully Trolled By Triple-A Ball Club

The Clippers went all-in on a rebrand, and one Triple-A affiliate ball club is clowning the L.A. NBA team for ‘copying and pasting’ their logos into their new appearance.

"Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery," posted the Columbus Clippers, the Cleveland Guardians' Triple-A affiliate team.

Not only do the Clippers basketball team and the Clippers baseball team share a name, their logos also now share a prominent "C" wrapped around a sailing vessel.

But at what point does imitation turn into outright IP theft? The Columbus Clippers would like an answer.

In regard to timeline comparison for the brands, the Columbus Clippers were founded in 1977. And in 1978, the NBA's Buffalo Braves went through a wholesale rebrand, changing to the San Diego Clippers.

Many could argue that Columbus beat the L.A. Clippers to the punch. Either way, it was a funny jab at the new Clippers look, which OutKick's Anthony Farris called one of the better-looking uniforms to debut in the Association.

L.A.'s new logo, uniforms and other updated elements are set to sail next season. The Clippers will debut their appearance at their new home venue, the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Calif., in 2024-25.

Additionally, Southland basketball fans were stunned to find out the Clippers were named after a boat before ever finding out what a Laker depicts.
