Kylian Mbappe future: PSG star to join Real Madrid after 'agreeing five-year deal'

Kylian Mbappe’s future has been a major talking point for the what seems like an eternity.

The Frenchman’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain will run out in the summer.

PSG have tried desperately to convince him to extend his stay, but he has refrained from signing a new contract.

Real Madrid have been heavily linked with a move for the French superstar.

Mbappe revealed on Sunday evening that he was close to making a decision on his future and will announce his plans before he joins up for France duty.

“I can’t say about my future but you’ll know very soon… it’s almost decided,” Mbappe said at a Ligue 1 awards ceremony on Sunday, per the Daily Mail.

“This isn’t the right moment but yes, yes… my decision is almost done.

“I will officially announce my decision on the future before I join the France national team in June”.

Following his comments, Spanish outlet Marca have reported that Mbappe has resisted PSG’s attempts to extend his stay and has instead decided to join Real Madrid.

They report that Mbappe visited Madrid on Monday and Tuesday of last week, eventually agreeing a five-year deal.

Interestingly, Marca reveal that Mbappe’s salary will be lower than whatPSG were offering him.

The signing of Mbappe is a real coup for Los Blancos.

Mbappe has been on fire for PSG this season, scoring 36 times in 45 games. He’s also recorded 26 assists, per Transfermarkt.

After signing Mbappe, Real will be able to field a fearsome front-three of Vinicius Junior, Karim Benzema and the 23-year-old next season.
