Kyle Walker makes Erling Haaland prediction amid 'impossible' claim about Man City striker

Manchester City defender Kyle Walker has insisted that Pep Guardiola's side cannot afford to rely on star striker Erling Haaland, despite the Norwegian's spectacular start to the season.

Haaland, who arrived at the Etihad from Borussia Dortmund in the summer, has registered 20 goals in 13 matches in all competitions. The 22-year-old has also scored three hat-tricks for City, including one in the 6-3 derby triumph over Manchester United earlier this month.

The forward has made an incredible start to the campaign and is registering a goal every 52 minutes for Guardiola's men. Despite this, Walker - who is currently sidelined with an injury - has suggested that while Haaland has added a different dimension to the City side, they can still be a strong outfit without him.

When asked how the City players had adapted to Haaland and how the Norwegian striker had changed Guardiola's side, Walker claimed that the frontman gives them a "killer instinct" in front of goal.

"I don't think we've really had to adapt because one player doesn't make a team, so it's more about him learning our way of playing and our philosophy of playing and him adapting to us," Walker told Radio 5 Live on Friday night.

"We've proved over the last five or six years since I've been here that we can get 100 points, we can win four trophies, go to a final of a Champions League. When there's been certain games where we've needed a focal point, where we've needed someone who has got that killer instinct in the box to go and grab you a goal when you've been knocking on the door for 90 minutes and you can't really break through.
