Shreyas Iyer earned the highest bid in marquee sets of IPL Mega Auction 2022 as Kolkata Knight Riders picked him for a whopping Rs 12.25 crore. Kolkata also brought back Australia Test captain Pat Cummins, shaking off battle from new franchises Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans to buy him back for Rs 7.25 crore after previously buying him for Rs 15.5 crore in the IPL 2020 auctions.

They got Sam Billings for Rs 2 crore and the controversial but very talented Alex Hales for Rs 1.5 crore. Pat Cummins, Sunil Narine, Varun Chakravarthy and Shivam Mavi they make a good bowling attack and if Russell is fit to bowl, it just adds to the sting.
