Knockhill BSB: ‘We both wanted that podium!’ - Jackson

Lee Jackson’s challenge for this year’s Bennetts British Superbike Championship remained as strong as ever at Knockhill after another excellent round for the Cheshire Mouldings FS-3 Racing Kawasaki rider.

In contention for a podium in all three races, enjoying particularly close battles with his teammate Rory Skinner, Lincolnshire’s Jackson came away from the Scottish venue with second, third and fourth place finishes to make it six podiums for the season so far. The team had both riders on a podium in the same race for the first time ever in race two with the results consolidating Jackson’s third place overall in the current standings with 14 podium credits already to his name. “It was tough battling with my teammate and I got held up a bit by a slower rider in the first race, which cost me drive out of the hairpin,” explained Jackson. “The bike’s working well though and Rory and I have been fast all year with Rory setting an outstanding pace at the start of Sunday’s first race. I just sat in the group as I knew I had the pace at the end of the race. “I bided my time, although me and Rory had a few close shaves! Neither of us wanted to do anything stupid but both of us wanted the same spot on the podium and it’s great to have both bikes together on the podium for the first time this season. “The final race was tough and I struggled a bit with the slightly higher temperatures as the front tyre was pushing more. I had to stay calm but with second, third and fourth from the three races I’m very happy.”
