Kildare to meet Dubs in Leinster U20s FC decider

Kildare will meet Dublin in the Eirgrid Leinster U20 FC decider after they beat reigning All-Ireland and provincial champions Offaly 2-11 to 0-15 at O'Connor Park in Tullamore on Thursday evening.

Daniel Lynam's 13th-minute goal helped the Lilywhites into an early four-point lead but Offaly reeled them in to get themselves level, 0-08 to 1-05, by half-time.

The decisive moment came in the 50th minute when substitute Aaron Browne goaled to nudge Kildare into a one-point lead.

It was nip and tuck in the closing stages but Offaly couldn't pinch the goal they required to snatch victory and it was the Lilywhites who prevailed.

The Dubs lie in wait now after they eased past Meath by seven points, 4-12 to 1-14.

They were 3-07 to 0-04 to the good by the break after Ryan O’Dwyer, Adam Waddick and Luke Breathnach all found the net.

Breathnach bagged another goal in the second half and though Eoghan Frayne did rattle the net for Meath towards the end, it was too little too late.

The final between Kildare and Dublin will take place next Thursday at MW Hire O'Moore Park, 7.30pm.
