Kids can eat free at Tesco when parents spend just 60p

We could all do with a helping hand where food bills are concerned and Tesco is doing exactly that this summer.

Throughout the school holidays it's letting kids eat free in its supermarket cafes when parents spend as little as 60p.

The offer - for those who have a Clubcard - is running all day every day from July 25 to August 26 and means kids can get either a breakfast, a hot meal deal or the cold pick and mix deal.

Choices include the likes of beans, eggs or avocado on toast for breakfast, while the hot meal deal includes either sausages, chicken goujons, fish fingers or mac 'n' cheese - all of which come with veg, a side and a drink.

The cold pick 'n' mix deal includes a sandwich, a drink, one piece of fruit and two snacks. If you're wanting to keep it as cheap as possible then you'll qualify for the deal by spending just 60p on some fruit in the café.

Other qualifying items include a bottle of water for 85p, biscuit items for £1, breakfast tea for £1.80, bakery items for £2, or a small latte for £2.75.

If you're wanting something a bit more substantial then you can get a breakfast for £4.95 or avocado on toast for £3.50.

One child can eat for free per paying adult and it applies to children under 16 in more than 300 Tesco cafes.

Alessandra Bellini, Chief Customer Officer at Tesco, said: “Kids Eat Free is just one of the ways we’re helping our customers to spend less at Tesco. We know that costs can add up over the school holidays, so offering free meals to children with any item purchased at our cafés for an adult, is one of the ways we are supporting parents during this time.”
