Khabib Nurmagomedov reacts to Joe Rogan botching his cousin's name

Former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has teased Joe Rogan for botching his cousin Umar Nurmagomedov’s name last weekend.

While he may be retired from mixed martial arts, Khabib Nurmagomedov still has a strong presence in the sport. In addition to being a promoter for Eagle FC and preparing for his UFC Hall of Fame induction this summer, the 33-year-old is also busy coaching the stars of tomorrow.

‘Coach Khabib’ has become a popular term for the lightweight GOAT on MMA Twitter and rightly so, given that the majority of fighters under his tutelage continue to win.

One prospect he’s keeping a particularly close eye on is his cousin, Umar Nurmagomedov. At the age of just 26, Umar has already amassed a 14-0 record in MMA and a 2-0 run in the UFC.

On Saturday night, he faced his biggest challenge yet when he stepped into the cage to fight Brian Kelleher. The veteran tried his best but ultimately, Umar was far too strong for him and secured a first round submission win.

Following his post-fight interview with Umar, commentator Joe Rogan stumbled pretty badly when attempting to pronounce his name to the crowd. Alongside the rest of the fanbase, Khabib picked up on it and decided to have a bit of fun with Joe on Instagram.
