Key reason emerges behind Liverpool’s successful transfer agreement with Fulham

The relationship Liverpool and Fulham have struck up allowed a transfer fee to be agreed for advanced midfielder Fabio Carvalho without the need to go to a tribunal, according to Neil Jones who spoke on The Redmen TV.

19-year-old Carvalho was on the verge of sealing a move to the Reds back on deadline day according to the Independent – but an agreement between the two sides was reached too late in the day as they were unable to complete the paperwork needed for this deal to be sanctioned.

Nonetheless, they continued to pursue the teenager who has established himself as a key cog in the Cottagers’ machine this season, registering seven goals and seven assists in 29 league appearances so far this season.

These sorts of stats attracted the attention of many teams including Jurgen Klopp’s men, though they previously looked set to have a bitter tussle with the likes of Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona for his signature with his contract expiring at the end of the campaign.

Even if they had won the race for the England youth international, they may have faced a fight with the Cottagers to try and minimise the fee they would pay for the teenager.

However, the two clubs have struck up a good relationship in recent times with Harry Wilson going to Craven Cottage for a deal believed to be in the region of £12m and Neco Williams making the same move to the English capital in January, though he has only arrived at Marco Silva’s side on loan.
