Key 2023/24 Champions League dates for Manchester United and Man City ahead of group stage draw

Manchester City and Manchester United will be eagerly awaiting the Champions League group stage draw, later this week.

Pep Guardiola’s side will be looking to defend their European crown after winning the premier club competition for the first time last season. City will hope they can replicate their victory over Inter Milan in the final which sealed a historic treble for the club.

Erik ten Hag will be leading United into the Champions league for the first time since his arrival, having finished third in the Premier League in his debut season. The three-time winners will hope Ten Hag can go a couple steps further than the semi-final he reached as Ajax boss, back in 2019.

Having qualified as both Premier League and Champions League victors, City are in pot one for the group stage. United have been placed in pot two. Here are all the key dates for the 2023/24 Champions League:

The Champions League draw will take place on Thursday, August 31 at 5pm UK time. It will be broadcast live on TNT Sports.

The first group stage games will take place on 19 and 20 September, depending on which side of the draw clubs are on. Here are all six matchday dates:
