Kevin Brown and Andrew Henderson think Tommy Leuluai could be banned for 'ninja tackle' that left James Greenwood injured
Wigan Warriors safely secured their place in the Challenge Cup quarter-finals with a 20-0 victory over Salford Red Devils on Friday. But it may come with some consequences.
Captain Tommy Leuluai was involved in a flashpoint after Salford Red Devils forward James Greenwood was left with a serious-looking injury. During the first half, Leuluai was involved in a tackle that saw Greenwood twist awkwardly and he was subsequently helped from the field.
After the game, Reds boss Paul Rowley confirmed the forward would go to hospital for scans and he was seen on crutches at the conclusion of the contest. Discussing the incident on Premier Sports following the game, former Wigan and Salford halfback Kevin Brown admitted that he thought Leuluai would receive a ban for the incident after it was put on report.

"For me when you lose your legs and put your weight through your hips and knee... for me, I think he'll be in trouble," he said. "I think both players could miss time Tommy Leuluai could be sat down."
Andrew Henderson stated that he believed there was no intent in the tackle but questioned the legality of it. "I'm not sure there was malice but when I watched it live in speed I didn't think there was much in it," he said. "But it's one of those ninja tackles, his feet go up and weight down. He could potentially face a judiciary for that."
Hull KR forward Albert Vete received a two-match ban for a similar tackle in round one that left Wigan centre Iain Thornley facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines through injury. The Match Review Panel will confirm their conclusions on Monday.
