Kent's 'Pay what you can' ticket offer means fans can enter day two of County Championship Division 1 match against Northamptonshire for just £1

Kent have confirmed a ticket offer ahead of their opening County Championship match of the season over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Titled “Pay what you can”, supporters will be able to purchase tickets for as little as £1 this Friday when Kent face Northamptonshire on day two of their LV= Insurance County Championship Division 1 match at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence, Canterbury.

Kent chief executive Simon Storey said: “We are all excited about the start of the new season, and there’s been lots of hard work both on the field and behind-the-scenes throughout the winter.

“We are keen to remind everyone that a day at the cricket is a great day out - whether you are young family, a grandparent wanting to spend some time with the grandchildren, or a group of friends looking for something to do on Bank Holiday Good Friday.

“We understand that price can play an important role in planning activities and, at a time of increased costs, we want to provide everyone with an affordable day out.

“We have an excellent relationship with Gillingham FC, and they told us about the success of a similar initiative they ran earlier in the football season, in bringing fans, old and new back to the Gills.

"We’re looking forward to welcoming as many people as possible to The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence, this Friday.”

The Kent Cricket Community Team will run cricket activities inside the ground, free of charge, for all juniors (children under the age of 14).

Booking isn't required and activities will run from 11.30am until 2.30pm.

Old Dover Road Park and Ride is an easy parking option and is only a 10-minute walk from the ground.

In the ground, there will be a range of bars and food outlets open.
